FAQ – General

Q. What type of advisors work with Total Office?
A. The majority of our advisors are independent, fee-only RIA's that are either sole proprietors or in small partnerships with little or no office help. Many are also authors and speakers. To learn more view "Our Clients" page.

Q. What type of tasks do clients assign to Total Office?
A. Just about anything that can be done in a regular office, we can do. Check our list of services for more details on just some of the tasks we can do. Click here for more details.

For large companies that already have office staff, we generally handle project or over flow tasks such as monthly and quarterly portfolio and invoice mailings, hard copy and e-newsletter creation and mailing, seminar setup and registration.

Q. How do you communicate with clients?
A. Good communication is key to a good outsourcing relationship. Our primary way of communicating with our clients is via e-mail or through their Online CRM (such as: Redtail Technologies CRM). Of course, phone, fax, and regular U.S. mail are also used.

Q. What is the most important thing I should do before (or directly after) contracting with Total Office, Inc.?
A. First, be mentally prepared to form a partnership with someone you may never even meet! Next, evaluate which services you need assistance with; then determine which daily tasks you perform that could be outsourced (to help you, you'll receive our complemtary "Creating a Job Function List" document when scheduling a conference call). Next, make an appointment for a conference call and send us your list so that we can discuss your needs.

Q. Do you have a policy on confidentiality?
A. Yes. A confidentiality agreement is inserted into all our contracts.

Q. How can an advisor maximize the results or benefits they will receive from working with Total Office, Inc.?
A. An advisor should be prepared to utilize us for as many services as possible. It is more efficient and cost-effective to outsource as many tasks as possible than to continue being overwhelmed by some of them.

Something else to consider: If your hourly rate is $150, and you decide to do a two-hour task instead of outsourcing it to us, that task is costing you $300! Wouldn’t it be better to outsource the task to us, save money and spend your time using your highest level talents, either for enjoyment or to obtain new clients?
